One of our goals is to be able to open a transition home. In Haiti orphanages are not allowed to house young men and women when they turn the age of 18. Many 18 year olds are still in school and working on completing their education. There is a huge need to train and teach these people life skills and adult responsibilities so they are able to provide for themselves, and eventually their own families. They will be trained in money management, basic things like buying groceries, how to prepare food while also helping them grow spiritually. We will also help the selected young adults with job training and needed education to help them exceed at their career goals.
We dream of being able to use the transition home as a meeting place for our micro loan partners, kids and adult bible study, community outreach and training, as well as a home base for Ansanm Haiti.
Our friend Alex (pictured above and below) currently has multiple bible studies at his house every week. It was amazing to see the hunger these kids have to learn the word of God. We are extremely blessed to be able to work with Alex as he shares God's word.We would like to have a place to expand the size of the bible studies, and be able to have a summer bible school for the local kids. It is our goal to build lasting relationships with the people of Montrouis through sports and community activities.
